UNIQLO U

Yan Yan Chan

[collaboration]

As we prep for another season of Christophe Lemaire's genius work of Uniqlo U.

White on white.

Injecting his signature clean feminine cuts, with a tomboy twist -- this season's Uniqlo U see's the classic Lemaire knits with a splash of bold colouring.. think bright red's in different shades and shapes, that scarlet red you thought would never come back, but has, and with a vengeance. Navy's and dark emerald green's on seamless puffer jackets and shearling 3/4 coats. Seeps of off-white in all of the comfiest textures, all the ones you can imagine. Loungey oversized denim, long sleeved knits to cover those hands - that extra little bit (unnecessary, but so necessary), cut cropped & boxy, for a little bit of midriff. Basically the perfect line of transpersonal add-in's. The pieces you pull out to layer over, wear under, or wear alone.

Uniqlo x Ines De La Fressange

A collaboration for UNIQLO

I spent the first few days on arrival in New York, in Uniqlo's latest collection collaboration with Ines de La Fressange.. Karl Largerfeld's muse in the 80's, French model and designer of the Uniqlo x Ines De La Fressange line, launched quarterly and scenically, and all very Parisian inspired. The perfect mix of Japanese simplicity & French comfort. Pieces that are tailored for the city hustle, but falls effortlessly for girls who like to leisure at the same time. From cab riding, subway running, picnic eating and bike riding moments. Uptown, or downtown. Light weight trench coats for that debatable New York weather, easy to carry, but durable enough for that cool fall shade.. just the preppier, the better. Oh PS. Wear this dress tied up, or undone.

Blocktech by Uniqlo

BLOCKTECH -- Something everyone needs in their wardrobe.

When it comes to dressing, I always purchase for cost per wear - and when it comes to it's durability, quality and wearability.. it's everything that I look for in a piece of clothing - especially for cooler seasons.

My naive once 14 year old self had many of thoughts that clothes were made to just look good, feel good and occasionally keep you warm. Never would I have thought back then - that tech & design would combine -- where aesthetic & technicality attain just as much importance as one another. And, for a very affordable price. I'm all about buying smart, and dressing smarter. Investing in pieces you can keep for more than just a season. Hello longevitiy.

waterproof, windproof, durable water-repellent - hello, goodbye. Right down to it's seams.

If you're someone who likes to layer up, dress light and still keep warm & look cute... this is how you do it.
