London abundance

I hated London the first time I visited, I didn’t understand it. I decided to give it another chance 4 years ago when I booked a job in the middle of Summer, and ended up extending my stay an extra 4 days - fresh slate indeed, because I ended up spending every Summer after that in London, and have 2 Christmas’s under the belt… and boy do I love it. There’s a strange slowness about the chaos of the city, it slows you right down into the present moment. The greenery and parks are aplenty and there’s a homeliness that makes me feel a kind of comfort that doesn’t exist in New York. It takes me back to Australia - something about the smells of jasmine in the spring time, a beer and the dry dry humor. It also helps when your boyfriend is born and bred London — there’s nothing more magical than seeing a new city through a local’s eyes.
